Bookstore Date Night

While my mom was here, Drew and I decided to go on a date night. But this was an overnight date night! Drew, for some reason, had a free nights stay at the Marriot by the airport so we decided we would go on a date and then spend the night away and go back home the next day.

We had dinner at Carrabba's (with a coupon!) and then headed over to Barnes and Noble for a bookstore date. I got the idea HERE. It's a scavenger hunt around the bookstore, looking for different types of books and such. It was cute and fun.

Find a recipe you'd like to try:

Find a quiz in a magazine to take together:

Read each other a book that reminds you of your childhood:

Find the humor section and read jokes and laugh:

Find the travel section and find a book about where you'd like to travel:

And lastly, your favorite book:

Then we went to the hotel! We drank some apple cider and relaxed because there were no babies to put to bed! Here's a picture of the hotel room:

That morning we went swimming in their indoor pool but there was a family with a 4-year-old boy and it made me miss the kids. We went to breakfast at the hotel restaurant (it was free) and afterwards we couldn't think of anything to do so we went home and saw the kiddies. What can I say, I'm slightly attached.

Too late for Easter?

Yeah, I'm a slacker. I haven't posted in forrrrever. But I wanted to get some of these pictures up. In March & some of April my mom came out! It was way fun. Since she was coming I put off having the kids' birthday party until she was here (did I blog about the birthday party? I think I did).

Luke had a field trip with his preschool class to the Natural Science Center, so we all went.

(This is funny. You stick your hand up the big nose and it sneezes on you. Okay, so more gross than funny.)

(Luke and his Bff Dylan checkin' out the human body.)

My mom brought her iPod touch, which the kids loved (I honestly don't know why Gracie is wearing her undies like that):

Grandma bedtime stories:

And 'do time:

I just LOVE this picture:

Watching TV:

Putting those Easter egg plastic sleeves on that suction up to the egg when you boil it in water (How do those things work?!):

Easter! We made baskets for the kids and my mom since she was here. We also went on a scripture Easter egg hunt as well as a candy egg hunt.

(My mama bought my Easter outfit. I love it!!)

Also, we moved right after my mom left. Right after Easter. It was ridiculously hectic. Here are the kids in the backyard of our new townhouse we're renting:

I like to call this next picture "Dirty Harriet":

Okay, so I'm a little closer to being caught up! Slowly but surely...
